Duplex (day & night) fabrics, everywhere
The single biggest shift we've seen this year is how many customers now ask for duplex blinds by name rather than discovering them during a consultation. The appeal is straightforward: one blind doing the job of a sheer curtain and a privacy blind, which suits Dubai's smaller apartment footprints where a double layer of window treatment eats noticeably into a room.
Motorisation moving from upgrade to default
On new-build fit-outs in particular, we're increasingly asked to price motorisation across every window from the outset rather than as a later add-on. Battery motor costs have come down enough that the upgrade is a smaller share of the total project than it used to be, and developers furnishing show units now often specify it as standard.
Warmer, more natural materials
- Woven bamboo and rattan shades expanding beyond majlis areas into main living rooms.
- Faux wood venetians replacing plain aluminium in kitchens for a warmer look that still handles humidity.
- Wider use of textured, cotton-linen roman fabrics over smoother synthetic weaves.
Coordinated fabric families across a whole home
Rather than choosing a different blind type room by room, more customers are asking for one fabric family — the same colourway in roller, duplex and roman weights — run consistently through a villa or apartment, with only the mechanism changing based on what each room needs. It reads as more considered when the whole home is viewed together, and it's also simply easier to reorder or repair down the line.
